StreamClan Training Clearing

A clearing just outside of the river surrounding StreamClan's camp, used for training apprentices in battle.

Burntglare sighed impatiently. "Pretend as if you were in a real battle, just .. don't hurt anybody. Claws sheathed. Like a fake wrestle, hmm..? You must've tried it when you were a kit."

His eyes lit up. "Oh. Okay!" Cloverpaw bopped Poppylight on the head as he was told. Then he did it again. He made a face that loos like this: :3

PoppyLight flinched when his paw hit her head, then thought. "Well, that wasn't half bad. Except, in real battle, I recommend putting a bit more physical force into it. But overall, BurntGlare, I think that was good, but a bit sloppy. Try balancing your back paws a little more, therefore giving you the ability to jump back if they swipe forward."

Cloverpaw stood up on her hind legs but before he could practice, the clumsy cat fell backwards! He picked himself up and mumbled, "I'll have to work on that."

Burntglare laughed. "You're right, Poppylight, it was a bit sloppy. But Cloverpaw . . . this is your first time. Don't feel too bad. What a klutz I was when I first became a 'paw!"

"Should I try again?" He stammered.

PoppyLight nodded and smiled. "Yes, you just need time, that's all!"

"Alright." He stood on his hind legs and pushed Poppylight on th head, pushing her back a paw length.

She moved back on her hind legs and thought after a moment. "Better!" She thought again. "Great Force." "What do you think, BurntGlare?" She looked towards him.

Burntglare nodded. "Yes, it's definitely improved!" he replied, smiling. "Do you want to learn another move or take a break?"

"I wanna learn another!" He told his mentor.

"Okay," said Burntglare, nodding approvingly at his apprentice's enthusiasm. "There's another that's sort of easy once you get the hang of it. If you get in a fight now, and thank StarClan that that's unlikely, this move is definitely one you should use. It's great in a tight spot." Suddenly Burntglare reached out a paw and knocked Cloverpaw almost roughly onto the ground. He stood over the apprentice. "This move--well, I'm not sure of its name. But if an opponent pins you down, you don't struggle! Go limp! When the opponent relaxes his grip, push yourself up and spring forward to catch him off his guard. Try it on me now."

cloverpaw instead of struggling oonly flinched, and acted as if he surendured. then, he tried to push his mentor off off him, but before it was time.

"Ummmm, so."cloverpaw didn't know what to do he when he caught sight of slaixkit and called, "salixkit, what are you doing here?"

PoppyLight looked at her and tilted her head. "Shouldn't you be at camp, young one?"

"Alright. Thank you, Flightdirection," said Burntglare, dipping his head. He turned to Cloverpaw and remembered that they had been working on a move. "Cloverpaw, make sure your opponent relaxes his grip before you spring up. Otherwise, they might just dig their claws in deeper!"

PoppyLight smiled. "Have fun, Salixkit!"

"Okay! Um, BurntGlare could you like please get off me so we can start again?" He smirked playfully.

Burntglare smiled. "Yes, of course," he said, lifting his front paws off of Cloverpaw and moving to the side so that the apprentice could pick himself up.
