Forgotten Purrs
The time of ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and even the Tribe of the Rushing Water have long passed. The old heroes are just legends now, and the Ancient Clans, tales of LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan are scarcely remembered. Tales of Clans and Tribes spread from forest to forest, Twolegplace to Twolegplace, and although the rumors quickly spread, the warrior code, the purpose of Tribes and Clans remained the same. Thus, the first leaders came together: Magpiestar, Sunstar, Hollowstar and Mothstar. Although their beliefs and loyalties were divided, they each were strong and proud and knew their destinies: to rule the forest together, to respect one another, and to sacrifice everything for their friends. Now, those leaders, too, have passed, and it's your time to step up an aid in the rebirth of the forest.

Northern BoulderClan hunting grounds Empty
PostSubject: Northern BoulderClan hunting grounds   Northern BoulderClan hunting grounds EmptySun Jan 13, 2013 1:47 pm

A large gorge runs across the northern section of BoulderClan territory; though it doesn't run along the entire border. Cats coming near this gorge should be intensely careful as the gorge is deep and recovery from the fall is slim.
The landscape here is fairly open, so birds (usually birds of prey) tend to use it for their hunting grounds; as mice and other small rodents hide in the narrow rock crevices, eating the small insects that also inhabit the area.

Charredstar finally arrived at the most northern portion of his Clan's territory; he stood near the edge of the gorge, the wind ruffling his black fur. The wind ran through the open landscape easily, blowing scents of LightningClan and StreamClan over the border and rustling the patches of grass that were scattered across the valley. Hunting here was fairly difficult as scents were blown around, alerting the rodents below to the presence of the BoulderClan warriors- this is why Charredstar would go hunting for birds. The birds that inhabit the valley did not have a very acute sense of smell, Charredstar knew, because they were birds of prey and therefore relied on their eyesight for hunting. As long as Charredstar stayed still long enough, he could find and potentially catch a bird for his Clan. He looked to the sky and spotted a hawk flying very high, not likely to land very soon, but that was fine because he needed to find a place to sit still for a while first. He moved away from the gorge and bounded to a large, bright gray boulder jutting out of the ground. Hiding in he shadows so that his starkly contrasting black pelt would not give away his position; the tom waited, watching for a bird of prey, when the hawk from earlier began to lower it's altitude. Charredstar perked his ears forward, looking at the ground now, finding the mouse that the hawk had spotted. It was nearby, so Charredstar felt good about his coming chance.

Copperear was trotting along the gorge, his head held low. He sat diagonal from CharredStar, not noticing him. The wind ruffled his fur and he sat down, keeping his head low.

(Wait, I thought Poppyflight was in StreamClan right? Or am I sorely mistaken? O.e I'll edit this post when you reply bro :3)
(EDIT: okay :D You should edit the post you just sent as well, so it isn't a double and so there isn't a random post flying around XD)

Charredstar flicked his ear to acknowledge Copperear, but he didn't look to his side where the tom stayed. Instead, the black tom stared, crouched down, ahead of him. The hawk was closing in on it's prey. Charredstar suddenly bolted out of his hiding place, without warning, as the hawk came a tail-length off of the ground; it screeched in fear and tried to lift off, but it was losing altitude so fast that it couldn't make it's way back up in time. Charredstar jumped on top of it, dragging the bird the rest of the way to the ground and not hesitating to deliver the killing blow. The mouse had been long gone, but it didn't bother Charredstar too much; the hawk was his prey. It would have been nice to get that mouse too... I'll have to think of a better strategy, but for now this is fine. he thought to himself and looked back to where Copperear was.

(Opps sorry. Edited the post xD)

Copperear watched as CharredStar caught the Hawk. When he was finished and looked toward him, he smiled. "Great catch. " Is all he said, looking around for any more prey to catch. Since all the mice were hiding, he had to find some type of bird around...

Charredstar dipped his head to Copperear in thanks. "We can wait around a while for another bird to come by if you'd like. One of them are bound to come for that mouse soon." He blinked his yellow eyes, dragging the hawk along with him. It was almost as big as the tom, but he was strong and could carry it along enough. "How often have you hunted these birds out here?"

He tilts his head. "Not enough, that's for sure. I barely come here. The hunting grounds is where I go mostly."

Charredstar nodded. This wasn't the most ideal hunting area, he knew. "We can try it out if you'd like, or we can go back to camp. Though in Leaf-Bare we should try to bring back as much prey as possible. Why don't we go to your usual hunting grounds so that we can pick up more prey there? It may take a while yet out here, and the winter wind is chillind." He puffed out his thick pelt, then picked up the hawk again, looking at Copperear for his reply.

He nodded. That would be the most sensible option." Standing up from his seat, Copperear flicked his tail and began padding to the Hunting Grounds. "There is especially a lot more thrush there. I'll make sure to catch a few out there." Glancing back at him, he surveyed the large hawk. "That's a pretty big one." He said.

"It is! Quite large; I can manage it though." He picked up the hawk again and mumbled through the feathers. "Show me where you usually hunt, Copperear. Lead the way." Charredstar knew he would have to carry the large bird with him, but he didn't mind much. It was better than leaving it out here in the open valley, where there weren't many places to bury it.
